Rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER)

Phát âm

Phiên âm: /rʌf ˈɛndoʊˌplæzmɪk rəˈtɪkjələm/

Từ loại: Noun

Nghĩa tiếng Việt:
Lưới nội chất thô

Nghĩa tiếng Anh:
RER is a type of endoplasmic reticulum that is studded with ribosomes on its cytoplasmic surface. These ribosomes are sites of protein synthesis. The RER is involved in the production and processing of proteins that are either secreted by the cell, incorporated into the cell's plasma membrane, or sent to an organelle called the lysosome. The rough appearance of the RER is due to the presence of ribosomes, which are not present on the smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER).
